Movie Stars

Actors and actresses that we follow daily on social media – are human, too! Who would have thought, right? Some of the biggest movie stars of all time had had their say about social media, and here is what they believe.

Believe Some of it, Think Through It All

When Arnold Schwarzenegger got accused of lying by his fans last year because of social media rumours and fake news online, he stated: “Not believing anything you read is just as lazy and dumb as believing anything you read.” After fake news got released about him on online platforms, the 74-year-old actor reminded everyone to stay awake and carefully process the information.

All over the world, people know about Schwarzenegger. They even play online slots with his character on them. Fake news about celebrities spread quickly, and the consequences can be devastating

The Hollywood actor is active on social media and tries to keep his fans posted most of the time. He is also working hard to promote healthy habits and an active lifestyle on his digital platforms.

They are Just People Too

“Do people on Twitter ever get tired of being so negative and disrespectful to everyone and everything? Are they that miserable?” wrote Lili Reinhart, the Riverdale star, in her Instagram story a while ago.

Hate speech and false accusations are ubiquitous today. “It’s like a cesspool for evil 15-year-olds who don’t know what the hell they’re talking about and have nothing better to do,” as Reinhart would put it. Unfortunately, many celebrities fall under shock after traumatic events like this online, and some of them have severe health problems like anxiety and depression.

Actual Presence in the Offline World

It is not only in Hollywood that acting artists have troubles online. On a global level, social media can be demanding for everyone, but especially for celebrities worldwide.

One of Bollywood’s most famous young movie stars, Warina Hussain, announced that she quit all social media this year. Like many others, she has had enough of having to deal with it all. “This is my last social media post, “she wrote on her Instagram in April this year. Since then, Hussain hasn’t made an online appearance.

The talented actress is only among many others of her profession that have decided the same. Alec Baldwin, Millie Bobby Brown, Daisy Ridley, and Leslie Jones also quit using social media, following different reasons.

All these movie stars have decided to be less present online and more in the real world. Being subjected to rumours, gossip, threats, hate speech, and false accusations, they have become victims of the Internet.

An online presence can be all fun and games until it no longer is. The good news is that the option of quitting one’s online presence – by shutting down social media accounts for a while – is always open, no matter how impossible it might seem at some times.
